Voice Teacher:

Location: Black Swamp Fine Arts School

Overview:

Black Swamp Fine Arts School is seeking a dedicated and passionate voice teacher to support the growth and development of our vocal students. The ideal candidate will inspire students across a variety of musical genres and be committed to fostering a nurturing and educational environment.

Responsibilities:

Candidates must be able to:

  • Schedule weekly lessons with students and offer flexibility for make-up or rescheduled sessions

  • Adapt teaching methods to support students’ goals across all genres of music

  • Teach basic music theory, sight-reading, and aural skills

  • Assign appropriate vocal exercises and repertoire to promote ongoing student progress

  • Provide students with relevant musical resources (any required materials will be communicated to parents/guardians for purchase)

  • Communicate regularly and promptly with parents/guardians regarding student progress

  • Prepare students for semester-end recitals (one recital per semester)

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or current enrollment in a degree program) in Vocal Performance, Music Education with a vocal emphasis, or a related field

  • Willingness to undergo and pass a background check

  • Commitment to upholding the mission and values of Black Swamp Fine Arts School
