The open audition placement classes are for dance students:
Interested in participating in the Pre-Professional Training Company Program at Black Swamp Fine Arts School
Interested in participating in Masha & the Nutcracker on December 16, 2023.

Location Auditions will take place at Black Swamp Fine Arts School in Studio A. The Address is 419 Gould Street.
Observation: Auditions are closed. However, parents with young students (under ten) are welcome to use of the lobby space.
What to Bring: Students who are new to Black Swamp fine Arts School should bring a photograph with their name printed on the back. Water bottles are permitted.
Attire Students should wear class attire without warmups. If your student is already a returning member of our company program, they should plan on wearing their pointe shoes for the whole class if they are in Fa and Sol, and only at the barre if they are in Mi+. Mi will be asked to wear their technique shoes.
Commitment: Company Handbooks and Nutcracker Handbooks will be provided for your consideration following the audition. We require a commitment decision to Masha & the Nutcracker and/or the Pre-Professional Program by June 1st. Non-BSFAS students who are considering participation in our Masha & the Nutcracker should evaluate the commitments of our production as well as their home studio’s own requirements before making their decision.
Results: Casting for corps de ballet for Masha & the Nutcracker as well as Pre-Professional Training Program acceptance will be announced by June 1st. Placements are final. Principal and soloist roles will be released following the June principal and soloist auditions.

In order to let us know who will be attending which time slots, we will have class options through our software where you will register your student. Non BSFAS students will need to create an account first and then sign up for the appropriate audition class.

13+ advanced/returning company members
This slot is for any of our Mi+, Fa, Sol, and RA students who are thirteen and older.

13+ intermediate/returning company members & enrichment program dancers
This slot is for our Mi, Red Ballet, or new-to-BSFAS, intermediate dancers who are thirteen and older.

7-9 company & experienced enrichment program dancers
This slot is for our Do, Re, and and recommended Yellow/Orange dancers who are 7-9 years old. Students recommended for this class will be listed here:

6-9 foundations, beginner (<1 year), enrichment program dancers & community
This slot is for our Foundations, Yellow ballet, and any new-to-BSFAS community dancers interested in our program who are 6-9 years old

13+ Final Call
This slot is for any of our Mi+, Fa, Sol, and RA students who are thirteen and older and who were not able to attend the 4:00-6:00 class on Friday. Dancers are not required to attend Friday & Saturday, unless requested by Artistic Director.

If your student is unable to make the audition time scheduled for their age/level, they can make the audition up in a different group. If none of the days work, the student can submit an audition video of themselves doing classwork by May 1st. Submit to dance@blackswampfineartsschool.com
